Booking · Private transfers and tours

Galaxy Transfer

Galaxy Transfer runs private transfers out of Dubrovnik in its own vehicles, from the airport to the Old Town and as far as Split, Mostar and Kotor, and also offers private day trips and multi-day tours. The old site ended in an enquiry form. On the new one the guest sees the price before typing a name, pays in the same visit and gets a voucher straight away, while the office runs every ride from one place.

Approach

Galaxy Transfer sells three kinds of ride: a point-to-point transfer, a private day trip and a multi-day tour with the same driver throughout. Transfers and day trips are paid straight away, while for a multi-day tour the guest sends the dates and pays a deposit, because the route is agreed together. The price is always for the whole vehicle, not per person, and the guest sees it as soon as they pick a route, a date and the number of passengers. We started with an interactive prototype of every screen and a redesign proposal, then built in phases: the homepage first, on a test address so the client could review it, then the rest of the pages, and finally the database, the admin, online payments and e-mails. We built the system with Next.js, the data lives in Supabase, payments go through Stripe and everything runs on Vercel.

What we built

  • A two-step booking: route, date, passengers and vehicle, then name, e-mail and phone, with no user account
  • A price for the whole vehicle that updates at once, including a stop along the way, a child seat or a return trip; the server always recalculates it
  • Payment by card, Apple Pay and Google Pay through Stripe without leaving the page: transfers and day trips in full straight away, multi-day tours with a deposit
  • An e-mail with a PDF voucher and a QR code after payment, a reminder with the driver's details the day before the ride and an e-mail for an unfinished booking
  • An admin in Croatian that works on a phone: a Today screen, a calendar showing when each vehicle is busy hour by hour, manual entry for bookings from the phone, WhatsApp and platforms, refunds, the price list, tours, photos and translations
  • A driver schedule: when the office assigns a driver, the ride reaches them by e-mail at once, and they also have a page with the rides for the coming seven days
  • English and Croatian, and a new language is added in the admin and stays hidden until it is translated; translations are typed in by hand
  • Permanent redirects for the old site's addresses and structured data on the route, tour and guide pages

Two steps from a price to a paid booking

Step one: choosing the route, date, number of passengers and vehicle, with a price for each vehicle
Step one: route, date, passengers and vehicle. The price is for the whole vehicle, not per person, and it shows for all three vehicles before the guest types anything: Old Town → Split, Škoda Superb €340, Mercedes V-Class €435, Renault Trafic €408.
Step two: the trip summary, stops along the way with their prices and extras such as a child seat
Step two, left: the trip summary, stops along the way and extras. Every stop has its own price, from Ston to Mostar, and the total changes the moment the guest picks one.
Step two: the price summary and card payment through Stripe on the same page
Step two, right: the summary and payment. Card details go straight to Stripe, and the button unlocks only once the guest has entered a name and e-mail.

A price for the whole vehicle, before booking

A list of the most popular routes from Dubrovnik with duration, distance and price: Split, Mostar, Kotor, Medjugorje, Tivat, Sarajevo
The eight most popular routes from Dubrovnik, each with its duration, distance and the price it starts from: airport to Old Town €50, to Mostar €265, to Kotor €300, to Split €340. The price is for the whole vehicle, up to three passengers, so the guest sees it before opening the form.

Day trips for a whole group

Private tour cards with photographs: Plitvice Lakes, Montenegro, Mostar, Korčula and Pelješac, Mljet, Split, Dubrovnik
Private day trips for one group only, from Dubrovnik (3 hours, from €170) to Plitvice Lakes (12 hours, from €850). There are nine in all, and multi-day trips with the same driver have a section of their own.

Three vehicles, three capacities

The fleet: Škoda Superb, Mercedes V-Class and Renault Trafic with the number of passengers and suitcases
A Škoda Superb for up to three passengers, a Mercedes V-Class for up to seven and a Renault Trafic for up to eight. Each vehicle says how many passengers and suitcases it takes, and the guest also picks the vehicle in the form, where the price is recalculated for each.

Frequently asked questions

Does the guest need an account to book?

No. The price shows as soon as a route, date and group size are picked. To book, the guest enters a name, e-mail and phone number and pays on the same page. They can reopen the booking later through a protected link in the confirmation e-mail.

How does the guest pay?

Through Stripe, by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay, without leaving the page. If the bank asks for extra verification, it opens in a window. Transfers and day trips are paid in full. Multi-day tours take a deposit, with the rest to the driver on day one.

What does the guest receive after paying?

An e-mail with the confirmation and a PDF voucher attached. The voucher shows the reference, route, date, vehicle, addresses, meeting instructions and a QR code linking to the booking page. The day before the ride, a reminder brings the driver's name, phone number and vehicle.

Can bookings from the phone or WhatsApp go into the system?

Yes. The office enters the booking manually in the admin and marks where it came from: phone, WhatsApp, Viator, GetYourGuide or Booking.com. The admin suggests the website price and warns if the vehicle is blocked that day or already has a ride, so all rides share one calendar.

How do the office and the drivers keep track of rides?

The admin works on a phone and opens on Today: free vehicles, rides needing a driver, the day's schedule. Once the office picks a driver, the ride reaches them by e-mail with time, route, addresses and the guest's phone. Drivers also have a page with the coming week's rides.

Which languages does the site support?

The guest site runs in English and Croatian, and the admin is in Croatian. A new language is added in the admin and stays hidden until it is translated and published. Translations are typed in by hand, with no machine translation, and the admin flags outdated ones.

Technologies

Every project gets the stack that suits it, this is the one for Galaxy Transfer. The data lives in Supabase, payments go through Stripe, and the price is always calculated on the server, not in the browser.
